04: Types of ISA account

There is now only one type of ISA account.

Until 5 April 2008, there were two types of ISA account:

The Maxi-ISA, which had to include a stocks and shares component, but did not need to incorporate the other component.

The Mini-ISA, which had to include only one investment component.

The removal of the dual account structure has simplified ISA administration. and shares ISAs and the PEP regulations were withdrawn.
