06: Consultation

Where there is a recognised trade union and it has appointed safety representatives, the employer must consult with them on health and safety issues. These representatives have the right to paid time off to carry out their duties and to undertake training. Where there is no recognised trade union, there is a more limited obligation to consult with employee representatives.
