08: Partnerships

In a partnership each partner owns a share of the business assets. Partners who sell their share in the business are liable to CGT on the gain on their share of each business asset. Taper relief is available if the partner has owned their share of the assets for at least one year.

Selling a partnership share has similar income tax consequences as a sale by a sole trader.
