01: Introduction
There are various ways in which your business can support and give money to charity. You can pay a percentage of your profits directly to charitable causes, decide to raise money for a special project via employees and customers, or encourage charitable giving through the payroll system.Larger companies often link their charitable and community giving activities to wider social and corporate responsibility polices, whereas smaller companies or partnerships will often favour charities in which the owners or partners have a personal involvement.
There are a range of tax incentives available for charitable donations. Businesses can get tax relief when they give money, whether as a one-off or a regular payment under the Gift Aid scheme, or for other forms of corporate giving.
