01: Introduction

Under UK law, workers have the right not to be discriminated against on specified grounds (see next page). Employers are liable for discrimination even if it is another worker who commits the discrimination, if the employer had not taken steps to prevent it. Discrimination can be ‘direct’, ‘indirect’ or by way of ‘victimisation’ or harassment.
